  • Teeth that are discoloured
  • Teeth that are worn down
  • Teeth that are chipped or broken
  • Teeth that are misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped
  • Teeth with gaps between them

What are the different types of Porcelain Veneers?

There are two primary types of porcelain veneers, each using a different procedure to get the veneers properly applied to your teeth. It is best to schedule a consultation and we will determine which type is right for you. Brisbane Elite Dental offers the most advanced dental treatment techniques in a comfortable, relaxing environment. Our patients routinely report total satisfaction, both for the spectacular results as well as our renowned gentle touch and friendly, caring approach.

1. Traditional Porcelain Veneers

Traditional porcelain veneers (or Dental Veneers) are wafer thin (0.3mm-1.0mm) shells of hand- made porcelain that are bonded to the surface of the teeth. Once in place, these porcelain veneers serve to restore the natural structure, appearance and strength of your teeth.

To prepare a tooth for a veneer, We will shave about small amount of enamel from the tooth surface, which is an amount nearly equal to the thickness of the veneer to be added to the tooth surface. Anaesthetic will be used to numb the area. Once the tooth is prepared we will take an impression of your tooth. This model is sent out to a dental laboratory to make the porcelain veneer. When the porcelain veneer is made we then bond the veneer to your tooth.

2. Minimal or No- Prep Porcelain Veneers

In some cases, a patient’s tooth will not require enamel removal before the veneer is applied. In this case, the veneer is applied directly to the existing tooth enamel.
